Licensed Plumbing Services for Stone Oak, San Antonio

Stone Oak homes are larger than average, use more water, and sit on the same hard mineral supply as the rest of San Antonio. That combination shows up as slab leaks, shortened water heater life, and scale buildup that wears out fixtures faster than homeowners expect. Here is every service we provide in Stone Oak and what we see most often.

Area served Stone Oak, San Antonio, TX Services offered 12 Availability 24/7 emergency service Licensed under RMP #43333

Silverback Plumbing and Drain provides licensed plumbing repair, installation, and maintenance across Stone Oak and the surrounding north San Antonio communities, including Sonterra, Champions, Canyon Springs, and Stone Oak Parkway corridor neighborhoods.

Stone Oak sits on slab construction throughout, and its homes are large — many exceeding 3,000 square feet with multiple bathrooms, multiple water heaters, and outdoor irrigation. More plumbing means more surface area for the Edwards Aquifer's hard water to affect. Slab leaks are among our most consistent calls here.

Emergency response runs 24 hours, with typical arrival of 25 to 40 minutes from our Helotes base, placing Stone Oak among the closest areas we serve.

Drain Cleaning

Larger Stone Oak homes have more drain lines and higher daily flow, which speeds up grease and mineral buildup. Camera inspection and hydro jetting for slow or blocked drains throughout the area.

Water Heater Installation and Repair

Many Stone Oak homes run two water heaters to serve larger footprints. San Antonio's mineral heavy water shortens tank life in both. Repair and replacement for tank and tankless units, same day in most cases.

Sewer Line Repair and Installation

Slab construction throughout Stone Oak means sewer lines run beneath the foundation. Root intrusion from mature landscaping is a consistent cause of blockages and line damage in this area's older sections.

Sewer line service

Gas Line Installation and Repair

Licensed gas line installation, leak detection, and repair throughout Stone Oak, covering gas ranges, outdoor grills, pool heaters, and fireplaces — common in larger Stone Oak homes.

Larger kitchens in Stone Oak homes often have heavier disposal use than standard residential. Diagnosis, repair, and same day replacement for jammed, leaking, or failed units.

Stone Oak homes commonly have four or more bathrooms. Running toilets, clogs, and full replacements — most completed same day regardless of bathroom count.

Faucet Installation and Repair

Hard water scale in aerators and valve seats is one of the most common Stone Oak calls we handle. Repair or full replacement of kitchen, bath, and outdoor faucets throughout the home.

Water Softener Installation and Repair

A whole home softener is one of the most impactful investments a Stone Oak homeowner can make. Edwards Aquifer water at 280 to 300 mg/L affects every pipe, fixture, and appliance in a large home simultaneously.

Plumbing Maintenance Plan

Scheduled inspections for Stone Oak's larger homes catch the slab leak indicators, water heater sediment buildup, and valve wear that are easy to miss until they become urgent.

Yard Leak Detection and Repair

Stone Oak's mature landscaping and extensive irrigation systems create more underground line exposure than a newer subdivision. Non invasive detection for supply and irrigation leaks anywhere on the property.

Why Stone Oak Plumbing Calls Look Different

Larger Homes, More Plumbing Surface

A 4,000 square foot Stone Oak home has significantly more pipe, more fixtures, more water heaters, and more daily water flow than a standard size house on the same supply. Hard water from the Edwards Aquifer affects every inch of that plumbing. Scale accumulates faster in a home that uses more water, full stop.

Slab Leaks Are Common Here

Every home in Stone Oak is built on a concrete slab, with copper supply lines running through or beneath the foundation. San Antonio's hard, mineral heavy water is corrosive to copper at the rate it moves through these lines. Slab leaks in Stone Oak homes typically appear as unexplained water bill spikes, warm spots on tile floors, or the sound of running water with all fixtures off.

Mature Landscaping and Irrigation

Stone Oak's established neighborhoods have mature trees and full irrigation systems installed years ago. Tree roots actively seek water lines, and irrigation systems develop slow leaks that go unnoticed for months. Both are consistent sources of water loss and yard damage we detect and repair regularly in this area.

1990s to 2010s Construction Mix

Stone Oak developed primarily between 1990 and 2015. Homes from the early 1990s are now 30 or more years old, with copper supply lines, original water heaters already replaced once, and sewer lines that have seen decades of root pressure. Newer sections from the 2000s and 2010s carry a different profile but are old enough for first major component failures.

Frequently Asked Questions — Plumbing in Stone Oak

What is a slab leak and how do I know if I have one?

A slab leak is a break or pinhole in a water supply line that runs beneath or through your concrete foundation. In Stone Oak, the most common signs are a water bill that jumps without a change in usage, a warm or wet spot on the floor, the sound of running water when nothing is on, or a drop in water pressure throughout the house. We use electronic detection equipment to locate the leak without breaking concrete unnecessarily.

Why are slab leaks so common in Stone Oak specifically?

Two factors come together here: copper supply lines in homes built before 2000, and San Antonio's hard, slightly acidic water from the Edwards Aquifer. Over time, the water chemistry causes pinhole corrosion in copper pipe, particularly where lines make contact with concrete. Stone Oak's age range — mostly 1990 to 2015 — puts a large portion of its housing stock in the window when copper lines begin showing this kind of wear.

My Stone Oak home has two water heaters. Can you service both?

Yes. Multiple water heater households are common in larger Stone Oak homes, and we handle both units in a single visit. If one needs replacement, we can assess the second at the same time and give you an honest read on how much life it has left.

How long does slab leak repair take?

Diagnosis typically takes one to two hours using electronic and acoustic detection equipment. Repair time depends on the method — an epoxy pipe liner or reroute takes longer than a direct access repair but avoids cutting a trench through the floor. We explain the options and tradeoffs before any work begins.

Do you service outdoor gas lines for pool heaters and grills in Stone Oak?

Yes. Outdoor gas lines for pool heaters, built in grills, and fire pits are a regular part of our Stone Oak work. All gas line extensions and repairs are performed under the Texas Responsible Master Plumber license and permitted where required.

I was very happy with the job that David and Brendan from Silverback Plumbing & Drain performed on my toilet. They were able to come out to my house within a day of my phone call, which was wonderful. They replaced the seal in my toilet tank quickly and showed me how my old seal had bumps on it (causing it not to seal properly anymore). Additionally, they fixed the chain that connected to the handle for free after I explained that sometimes the handle doesn’t flush properly. I also was satisfied with the price that I was charged for replacing the seal in my tank. David informed me that I should contact SAWS to let them know that I had the seal in my tank repaired in order to possibly get them to reimburse me some money (if the most recent bill that I had was higher than my previous bills). David and Brendan were very knowledgeable, professional, and personable. If you need to have a plumbing job done, don’t hesitate to use Silverback Plumbing & Drain!

We had a great experience with Silverback Plumbing! Brian and Brendon recently replaced our water heater and repaired a leaky tub faucet, and they did an outstanding job from start to finish. Both of them were professional, friendly, and took the time to explain everything clearly before and after the work was completed. They arrived on time, worked efficiently, and left the area spotless when they were finished. It's refreshing to work with technicians who truly care about the quality of their work and customer service. Silverback Plumbing has earned our trust with their reliability, honesty, and excellent workmanship. We highly recommend Silverback Plumbing, and a special thank you to Brian and Brendon for providing such exceptional service. We will definitely call them again for any future plumbing needs!
